Not just another coupon blog

Not just another coupon blog…..
I am not just another coupon blog. I am going to cover ALL areas of saving money and being thrifty!

Every Monday I will post the best deals that I am buying at the drugstores and every Thursday I will post the best deals I am getting at the grocery stores! I will only give the deals I am buying  because I don’t want to spend all my times on good deals and will let my other blogger friends do that.

A lot of people try to save money and each person has their own ideas and methods. In the Patten family these are some ways we save money

1.       Couponing
2.       Buying what is on sale and planning my meals around that
3.       Fry’s gas
4.       Wash Ziploc bags to reuse
5.       Not buying water bottles and using reusable ones instead
6.       Trading- I trade item I hand craft for babysitting, hair cuts, other hand crafted items
7.       Babysitter trading- trade with a friend for babysitting
8.       Make my own baby food
9.       Give the boys in your family hair cuts yourself ($20 for a kit)

More post to come- Babies on a Budget, Clothes on a Budget, Recipes on a Budget, The Spirit of Self Control and much more! Please follow me so I know you are reading! Stay tuned!

Dressing

Life on a budget....making your own:

In my family we grew up eating Good Seasons Italian Dressing but now it is over $2 a package!! I was also using it to season my mashed potatoes and steamed green beans.

Here is recipe to make your own Italian dressing seasoning....

At some farmers markets you can get spices for extremely cheap! I also have found in the Mexican section of the grocery store you can buy the bagged spices for just a few quarters :) A little spice can go a long way in this recipe!

A blog!

Life on a budget means coupons, shopping deals, going without and making your own....

I have created this blog to write down how I contently and joyfully live my life on a budget. I am going to share my tips, recipes, home management techniques, when I see great deals and my stories.

I feel it is my part as a Proverbs 31 woman to be good stewards of our money and do my part!

I am a stay at home mom of two girls. They are 12months 10days apart. A is 17months and K is 5months. My husband works very hard to make it so that I can stay at home and teach my kids to follow Jesus with all there heart! Sometimes I am going to share my battles as a mom just to vent and maybe make you laugh.

My family the week K was born.

My first post is coming up!
